Health, Healing, and My Testimony During Breast Cancer Awareness Month
As we step into October, a season filled with the warmth of autumn, itβs also a time to turn our focus inward and prioritize our health. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a cause that holds personal meaning for me and for many others. Itβs a reminder to be proactive about our wellness and to take steps toward caring for ourselves.
In my own journey, I faced a health scare when a lump was discovered. The experience was a powerful wake-up call. It reminded me how important it is to listen to our bodies, trust our instincts, and take action when something doesnβt feel right. My faith and the support of loved ones helped me through that time, and itβs something I now feel compelled to share with others.
Because I was avoiding getting the mammogram, due to potential risks and radiation, I initially used HerScan https://www.herscan.com, to get my ultrasound done, paying out of pocket since it wasn't covered by my insurance. This is a great alternative for anyone who needs it!
As I open up about my experience in the video below, my hope is that it encourages you to take charge of your own health. Whether itβs scheduling regular check-ups or simply being more aware of changes in your body, these small actions can make a big difference. Breast cancer detection is just one piece of the puzzle, but itβs one we canβt afford to overlook.
One of the ways Iβve embraced wellness is by nourishing my body with healthy foods and following a routine that supports my healing. Each morning, I would start with a teaspoon of baking soda on an empty stomach, with hot water and lemon. I also enjoy a green or berry smoothie for breakfast, and for lunch and dinner, I have a nutrient-packed saladβone of my favorites being the Giant Cancer-Fighting Salad.

This salad is a simple way to pack nutrients into your day. Itβs versatile, so feel free to adjust the ingredients based on whatβs in season. Each bite is not just a meal but a reminder of the importance of taking care of our bodies.
I also incorporated juicing into my daily routine, drinking 64 oz a day, with 8 oz every hour. Here is my go to juice recipe as well as a smoothie!

Iβve found incredible guidance in the Chris Beat Cancer, and Beat Cancer Kitchen books, which introduced me to many of the recipes that have become staples in my healing journey.
Along with these recipes, I also incorporated quality supplements into my routine, such as turmeric, vitamins C and D, Turkey Tail, Lionβs Mane, Astragalus, Spirulina, Chlorella, and vitamin B17 (which isnβt approved in the USA but can be found in apricot seeds).
