Chocolate & Tahini Bites

These Chocolate and Tahini Bites aren’t just good for your tastebuds— they’re great for your body and health too! Rich in fiber, protein, unsaturated fats, and vitamins like vitamin B12 and B6, they help boost your body by providing natural fuel. Having a high fiber content, it also lowers bad LDL cholesterol and promotes healthy digestion in your digestive system. Made with five simple ingredients, these are super easy to make and super delicious!

Tahini paste is made from ground sesame seeds. Commonly used in Middle Eastern cuisine, you can find it in foods like hummus, baba ganoush, and halva. Tahini contains ten times as much calcium compared to peanut butter, and it is also low in sodium and saturated fat.

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup or 200g of raw cashew nuts

  • 9-12 medjool dates

  • 2 tablespoons of tahini

  • 1/4 cup or 40g of dark chocolate chips

  • sesame seeds (optional, to decorate)

Instructions:

  1. Blend 200g of cashews and 9-12 dates in a food processor. Add 2 tablespoons of tahini and continue blending until it forms a paste. Add more dates depending on desired consistency.

  2. Once the mix forms a paste (at desired consistency), remove it from the food processor and fold in 40g of chocolate chips by hand.

  3. Roll the paste into bite-sized balls. Roll in sesame seeds to decorate.

  4. Chill in fridge and enjoy! These can be stored in the fridge for up to 10 days and for up to 3 months in the freezer.
