Stress Free Holiday Preparation

The holidays are just around the corner, filled with friends, family, hot wassail, loads of turkey and the winter chill.

Staying organized during the holiday season is something that we all need and want, but forget to consider while shopping for presents, cooking, entertaining, wrapping gifts and decorating.

Marcel Ardani would like to share some tips on creating a stress free holiday.  You are the one that has control over your holiday time and, with a little planning and organizing, it is possible to avoid the craziness of the season and just enjoy all of the magic that the holiday has to bring.

1. Make a List

Make a list of all things you are planning to have/do this holiday season.

Make a list of everyone you will buy gifts for, so you do not forget any.

Also, it is essential to set a budget for overall gift spending and break it down per person. When you are creating a gift spending budget, you will also want to make a budget for parties and dinners. Food, drinks, and party needs can really add up and put a dent in your budget if you don’t plan for them.

2. Set a Routine.

Do not do everything at once because you will get overwhelmed and won’t be able to enjoy the holiday season. Spend some time in November and beginning of December preparing things. You can have your family photoshoot done early, if you’re planning on mailing them out to friends and family. Or you can start writing your Christmas cards early, so you have the time and energy for each.

3. Start Shopping Early

Start picking up things like stocking stuffers and hostess gifts now. It’s also a good idea to grab wrapping paper and cards now so you aren’t looking for them at the last minute.

4. Set Up a Holiday Wrapping Area

You can wrap gifts as buy them unless you prefer holiday spirit in full swing when you wrap gifts and like to wait until closer to the holidays and do a marathon wrapping session with a friend or family member.

5. Take Care Of Yourself

Please take care of yourself and do not forget about your needs. Make sure you get enough sleep, as well as eat proper healthy food. Remember not to rush and take it easy. Make sure the holiday preparation becomes something joyful this time of year.
