March 20th: First Day of Spring

Spring,

The delicate breeze in the air that whispers of spring’s arrival. A new wind arrives each year! One that smells clean and somewhat sweet. The aroma of spring makes its way into my home as I open the windows. It gently reminds me that it is time to do my spring cleaning!

March 20th is the day we officially welcome spring into our homes. As the delicate spring breeze blows against your curtains and the sound of birds chirping fills your home, take a moment to pause and welcome the new season upon us!

Spring cleaning calls for light, airy, and fresh products. The blooming season reminds us of the colors that we’ll clothe ourselves in.

The seasonal flowers decorate our home with a new color palette.

Here are a few of my favorite spring cleaning products, clothing color ideas, and flowers that excite me for this new season!

Spring Cleaning Products

When choosing cleaning products, I tend to look for products that are clean, smell fresh, and are light. The products I use most often for laundry and multi-use cleaning are products that I have been using for many years and truly love.

Caldrea has become my year-round fabric softener! The scent I use specifically during the spring season is called Sea Salt Neroli.

It leaves a delicate scent on my bedding.

I like to pair my fabric softener with a detergent that has a refreshing/energy boosting fragrance! The detergent I enjoy most is the Ecos brand which is earth friendly. I usually like to use this detergent in the lemongrass scent.

As a multi-purpose cleaning product, I always reach for Mrs. Meyer’s multi surface concentrate with the geranium scent.

Geranium gives off a beautiful citrus smell that accents the fruity fragrance with a hint of rose and spice.

Spring Clothing Color Ideas

Once springtime comes along, I like to clean out my wardrobe with refreshing tones! This not only helps my closet look cleaner and tidier but becomes a mood booster for my day to day schedule.

Neutral Tones

When it comes to my clothing in the springtime, I usually prefer wearing lighter and neutral tones. You can easily pair these washed neutrals with more vivid colors as well.

Soft Pastels

These soft pastel tones can also be very vibrant for the spring season. Pastels can express youthfulness and newness for your wardrobe.

Cheery Yellow

Bright colored tones are always a good way to start your day! It can make a positive impact on your mood and for your wardrobe.

Spring Flowers

Fresh flowers have become my go to interior home decor! Spring calls for beautiful nuances of color. Each pastel tone reminding me of spring. When in a rush, I can always count on Trader Joe’s to supply my every floral need. They offer beautiful, budget-friendly floral arrangements with each season shift. A personal favorite of mine are tulips (specifically in the color…pink!). Tulips are among the first flowers to bloom in the spring. Tulips have been known to represent “perfect love.”

HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SPRING!
